Books

There are thousands of books on project and time management. Here are a few that I reckon are pretty good. Don’t take everything you read as incontrovertible fact - take what you like from these books and leave the rest.

Project Management

I like this series of books - it’s written in no-nonsense language, yet it covers the subject.

The first book I’ve seen which takes the same approach that I do, and talks a lot about the teamwork required for good project management.

This is one of a series of great little books on all sorts of subjects. And it’s small enough to keep in your briefcase for those times when you need inspiration...

The only book I’ve seen so far that concentrates on the voluntary sector.

Stephen Covey

If you’re going to use MS Project, then you need a textbook. Most of us don’t need a detailed technical handbook. This one covers probably all most of us will ever need.

This approach works for lots of people. Certainly worth a try.

A couple of classics - Stephen Covey has sold millions of these books. They are all about deciding what’s important and focussing on those things.
