Health check added

by Stuart on 21 November 2012

A new service launches today – an organisational health check.

It’s well known that organisations go through phases. One model is the formin’, stormin’, normin’, and performin’ developed by Bruce Tuckman in the 1960s. There are others.

Every organisation gets to a point where things are going reasonably well, but there’s a feeling that “things could be better”. Or, as in the case of many a charity, there’s a funding crisis which prompts a restructure, but that’s not enough. Even when it’s over the normal operations still cost too much in resources. What can be done to make the organisation slicker, more effective, less costly to run?

This is a really hard problem, particularly for those inside the organisation. What you need is an outsider to take a cold, hard look at what you do, and what you don’t do, and highlight some possibilities for improvement.

And we come neatly to 3rd Sector Skills. With more than 20 years experience in the charitable sector, there’s not much we haven’t seen. Let us bring the benefit of our experience to your organisation. We’ll come in and watch you work, examine your processes etc and then give you a report with some practical recommendations.

If you wish, we’ll leave it there, and let you implement any changes.

Or we’ll help you through the process, or even come in and manage the process for you.

If this sounds like a good idea, then get in touch and we’ll see how we can help you.
